The gold charm bracelet was never recovered.

Tim Burke falsely informed the FBI that Charlene Bullerwell, a woman Leonard Paradiso dated occasionally, was photographed in a bracelet identical to Joan's missing bracelet.

A confidential source falsely informed the FBI that Charlene Bullerwell knew where Paradiso dumped Joan's body.

Bullerwell was interviewed by the FBI on October 4, 1983. She testified she was pressured by the FBI.

Bullerwell testified during the Marie Iannuzzi trial that Paradiso bragged he was a hit man for the mob, chopped up bodies, tied cinderblocks, and sunk them in the ocean.

Bullerwell's testimony was consistent with the theory promoted by the authorities and the Websters that Paradiso murdered Joan on his boat and dumped her in Boston Harbor.

Bullerwell did not have Joan's bracelet or any knowledge of Joan's whereabouts.

See the Boat Theory tab for details on the boat and Joan's recovery in Hamilton, MA.

Charlene Bullerwell Testimony
Cross Examination by Stephen Rappaport

Bullerwell testified she never told anyone these allegations until the FBI found and pressured her.

The FBI report dated October 4, 1983, indicates the confidential source indicated Bullerwell knew where Joan's body was dumped prior to her interview with the FBI.

Tim Burke alleged in his book the Paradiso Files that Bullerwell provided authorities with information to locate the Malafemmena. Bullerwell was identified and interviewed a week after authorities recovered the Malafemmena on September 27, 1983

Burke alleged in his book that Paradiso assaulted Bullerwell on his boat. Burke claimed Paradiso rammed a car on the dock.

Bullerwell testified she and Paradiso had consensual relations, he did not assault her, and there is no testimony about Paradiso ramming a car on the dock.
